Brown, JoAnn (Jody) Victoria Richardson JoAnn (Jody) Victoria Richardson Brown went to be with the Lord on February 21, 2010. Jody was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and aunt. She was born May 1, 1930 in Dallas, Texas to John (Rich) Manly Richardson and Doris Jo Hall Richardson. Jody was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years C. DeWitt (Dee) Brown, Jr. Jody was also preceded in death by her son John Charles (Chuck) Brown and her mother and father. Jody is survived by daughters Debby Barnes (Buddie) and Merrily Brew (Larry), son Michael Brown (Jan), sisters Pat Smith (Bob) and Susan Davis (Brad), brother John Richardson (Sherry), eight grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Jody was a long time member of St. John's Episcopal Church. Jody was involved in many church activities such as voluntarily setting up a curriculum and resource center for the Episcopal Diocese of Dallas for Sunday school teachers. Jody gave many workshops all over the U.S. teaching priests and Sunday school teachers. Jody has an honorary Doctorate of Divinity from the Episcopal Diocese Seminary in Lexington, Kentucky. Jody also did volunteer work while being on the board of the American Foundation of the Blind. Visitation will be held 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at Sparkman/ Hillcrest Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at St. John's Episcopal Church, 848 Harter Road, Dallas, Texas 75218, Father David Houk, and Bishop James Stanton, officiating. Interment to follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park. Pall-bearers: Rob Barnes, David Barnes, Trev Brady, Jeff Brown, Michael Brown, and Robert Barnes. A reception will follow the graveside at the residence of Buddie and Debby Barnes. Instead of flowers, the family asked that donations be made to any one of the following: Center of Brain Health University of Texas at Dallas, Baylor Health Care System Foundation, St. John's Episcopal Church or Salesmanship Club.
