John Ernest Newby died April 8 of cancer at Church Home Hospital. He was 53.
Born in Long Branch, New Jersey, Mr. Newby served in the Navy from 1955 to 1959. He came to Baltimore and worked at Lever Bros. Co. for 30 years, retiring as a supervisor.
In his spare time, Mr. Newby enjoyed traveling with his wife. He also enjoyed working on his home computer. He was the beloved husband of Joan M. Newby (nee Breiner), the devoted father of Sharon, Jeannie, Angela, John, Diana and Kelly. He is also survived by ten grandchildren, two brothers, one sister, one brother-in-law, one sister-in-law and by his mother-in-law Bella Eckert
