Harold E. "Bud" Strout, 75, of Page Avenue died March 30, 2000, at his home. He was born in Brunswick, a son of Ivory and Emily Marius Strout. He graduated from Morse High School, Bath, in 1941. He served in the Navy for six years, including during World War II. He married Ruth Morrison on June 14, 1944. From 1941 until his retirement in 1986, he worked for Bath Iron Works, beginning as an apprentice in the machine shop and later moving to the pipe shop. Mr. Strout was a member of St. Philip's Episcopal Church, the American Legion, the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Masons. His interests included hunting and fishing and attending his granddaughters' swimming meets. Surviving are his wife of Wiscasset; a son, Donald of Edgecomb; three sisters, Patricia Hayward of Bath, Thelma Alexander of Phippsburg and Pauline Coffin of Boothbay Harbor; and three granddaughters.
