Born on Bere Island, Bantry Bay, West Cork, Ireland to Peter and Julia McCarthy O'Sullivan. She was the fifth of twelve children. This O'Sullivan family are part of the Seer sept.
She married John O'Sullivan (Roger sept) about 1889. They lived on John's family farm in Ardra and raised 13 children all born on the island.
The family spread far and wide and by Apr 1936 their son John passed in Monroe, MI. At this time John and Bridget were listed as living in Castletownbere on the mainland. It is here we believe Bridget passed on. But she was taken back to her island home across the bay and laid to rest at Saint Michael's, Ballinakilla, Bere Island.
