Julie Ann Jay passed away peacefully on July 1, 2009 in Provo, Utah. She was born on February 1, 1958 in Ogden, Utah to George M. and Evelyn Cannon Jay.

Julie lived in Ogden, Utah until her parents retired and then moved to St. George, Utah in the early 1970's. She was an active member of ARC in Washington County and Project TURN. She enjoyed music, traveling, spending time with her family and was an avid sports fan of Dixie College.

After her mother's passing in March of 2008, Julie moved to Provo, Utah, where she lived a happy life as a member of her cousin, Spencer W. and Gayle S. Schmutz's family. While in Provo, Julie participated in RAH and Tri-Connections activities and also in the Area Special Olympics. In May of 2009, she took a Gold, Silver and a Bronze medal.

Because of her special personality, Julie made friends wherever she went and was enjoyed by all who knew her. We will miss her endearing smile.

Julie is survived by her niece, Kristine J. Wilson of Boston, MA. She is preceded in death by her parents and brother, George Walter (Walley) Jay.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 6, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at the LDS 6th Ward Chapel, 85 S. 400 E., St. George, Utah . A viewing will be held from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., just prior to services, also held at the chapel. Interment will take place at the St. George City Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to RAH Services, 815 N. 800 W. Provo, Utah.
