William Albert Burcher was born to Jessie Gertrude Thomas and Dr. William Sherwood Burcher in Beallsville, Ohio on March 30, 1911. He married Celeste Schnegg on September 12, 1935. He had one sister, Ruth Burcher Tipton and two half siblings, Martha Burcher Boyles and Joseph Benajah Burcher. They shared the same father. He died in WWII on April 14, 1945 in Leipzig, German, weeks before the war ended. He had no children.
