Dorothy Lee was the daughter of Clyde Green and Lurah (Williams) Dixon of Kansas City, MO. After graduating from Northeast Senior High School in Kansas City she was employed in the office of two major steel companies before marrying John Baldwin in 1940. Upon John's return from WW II she and John made their home in Kansas City for a time before moving to Los Angeles. For most of her working career in California she worked as a federal property manager for Northrup-Grumman Aircraft Corporation.
