George Dewey Corbin, son of Benjamin Homer Corbin and Eva Inez Gifford, married at least three times. His first marriage was to Nellie Mae Wilgus in 1917 (he claimed to be a soldier on his marriage record to Nellie). Then in 1919 he met and married Emma Sophia Reno in St. Louis, Missouri, under the assumed name of Joe/ George Woods. George and Emma had three children; Eva Lula, born in 1923 and twins Edward Dewey and Lydia Grace Nellie born in June of 1924. By August of 1924 he was seeing another woman by the name of Julia Anne Niehaus who lived near by. At some point he left Emma and their three children and in October of 1924 he married Julia while still married to Emma. George had used the assumed name of Woods to marry Emma and his real name to marry Julia. When he left Emma she never heard from him again, but she worked and raised their three children. Emma, her children, and grandchildren could not help but wonder what had happened to him, so in 2015 one of Emma's granddaughters had DNA testing done through Ancestry on Eva Lula. Eva's DNA connected her to the Corbin family in Iowa, and along with the DNA proof of his identity he had also left behind Corbin family photos when he left Emma. It took over 90 years for Eva to find out what happened to her father. ***George Dewey was one of nine children which included, Ruby May, LaRoy, Lula Belle, James Blaine, Ethel Grace, Clara Alice, Gerald Edward, and Raymond W Corbin. George and wife Julia Ann Niehaus had ten children; George N, Lorraine L, LeRoy B, Norman L, Walter W, Shirley A, Gerald E, Donald, Phyllis, and Marilyn J.
