birth about 1779, VA
The 1820 census says that Simeon was 45+. His gravestone gives a very blurred age. I am of the opinion that Caleb Sims (1782-1842) and Jeremiah Sims (1760-1846) are related. Since Jeremiah's Revolutionary War service record indicates that he had 6 children and these children are known, Simeon is NOT the son of Jeremiah.
