Edith May Lasseter, 83, of Tallahassee, Florida (formerly of Fitzgerald) died Tuesday, September 22 at Centerpointe Health And Rehabilitation Services in Tallahassee, Florida.
Graveside services will be held 11 A.M. Friday, September 25 at Evergreen Cemetery. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7-9 Thursday evening at the funeral home in Fitzgerald. Mrs. Lasseter was born May 9, 1926 in Bakersville, North Carolina to the late Press and Dolly Ledford Buchanan. She Moved to Tallahassee two years ago from Fitzgerald. Mrs. Lasseter was a homemaker, an avid fisherman and of the Baptist faith. Mrs. Lasseter is survived by her children, Margaret Duncan of Tallahassee, Fl, Mary Platt of St. Augustine, FL, David (Peggy) Wise of Fitzgerald, Nelson (Mae) Wise of Mt. Holly, NC and Roger (Elke) Wise of Lowell, NC; 10 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren; brothers, A.D. and L.B. Buchanan of Bakersville, NC; sister, Bernice Hughes of Bakersville, NC. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Martin N. “PeeWee” Lasseter, 1 son, Albert Wise and 2 sisters.
