She was born in New Hanover County, NC, on February 2, 1915, and was the daughter of the late Joseph Oak and Janie Gooden Bullard.
Funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 17, 2004, at First Baptist Church, Bladenboro with the Rev. Bert Young officiating. Burial will follow in the Pine Crest Cemetery.
Survivors include her children, Eddie Roy Walters and Oakie Walters both of Bladenboro, Nancy Byrd of Clarkton and Ricky Walters of Bladenboro, three sisters, Virginia Howell and Margaret Herring both of Bladenboro and Jane Marion of Cary, a brother, Gus Bullard of Cary; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
