Philip U. Dodds 94, of Carmel, passed away Thursday, February 25, 2010. Phil was born June 8, 1915 in Chicago Heights, IL to the late Jesse T. and Almina Ulland Dodds. He was employed by AT&T for 36 years. The 18 years prior to his retirement, he was with the AT&T Nassau Metals Corporation in New York City where he was vice president and a member of the company's Board of Directors. At the time of his retirement, he was presented with the AT&T Distinguished Service Award in recognition of his dedication and outstanding contributions in Recycling Bell Systems Materials. During this time, he was also on the Board of Directors and a member of the Executive Committee of the National Association of Recycling Materials. Phil was a member of Meridian Street United Methodist Church, Woodland Country Club and was a life member of Sertoma International.

Phil is survived by his wife of 73 years, Rose Marie Dodds; daughter, Diane (husband, Ron) Horsfield; grandsons, Jim (former wife, Lisa) Horsfield and Scott (wife, Jennifer) Horsfield; great grandchildren, Bret, Jack, Jill and Molly Horsfield; sister-in-law, Patricia A. Bailey; niece, Barbara John. He was preceded in death by his sister, Phyllis Kaiser. Memorial contributions may be made to Meridian Street United Methodist Church.
