Greer, SC - Isom D. Blackwell died at 1:50 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 14, 1956 in a local hospital, following five years of declining health and a serious illness of three weeks. Native of Spartanburg County, SC and son of Mr. and Mrs. David Blackwell. Resident of Greer, SC for 25 years and a member of Southside Baptist Church. He was twice married, first to the former Miss Quillie Ensley, who passed away in 1952. From this union , one daughter, Mrs. Thelma Duncan; and two sons, Jessie Hayes Blackwell and Louie "Hap" Blackwell, survive. Surviving from the second marriage to, Mrs. Gertrude Vaughn Blackwell, were three step-sons, Leard, Gene, and Joe Vaughn; one brother, Andy Blackwell; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
