Cyprian Watson was born on 1 June 1737 and later moved to the Stillwater area when it was still wilderness. He cleared the land and started a farm about 3 miles from Stillwater. He participated in the Revolutionary War battles in the area which led to General Burgoine's surrender on 17 Oct 1777. He died on 11 Sept 1807.
