Andrew Jackson Davis was born 17 June 1838 in Mitchell County Georgia. He married Martha Ann Parham in 1860.

Andrew enlisted into the Confederate Army on March 4, 1862 at Camilla Georgia. He was assigned to Company C of the 51st Georgia Regiment, also known as the Mitchell Vanguards. This regiment was organized in February, 1862, with men from Early, Mitchell, Miller, Terrell, Washington, Randolph, Clay, Doughterty, and Lee counties.

General Early's Confederates surprised Federal soldiers near Cedar Creek VA. on October 19, 1864. Early had this battle won until the Federals counterattacked later that afternoon. The Federals finally ended the pursuit of the beleaguered Confederates at Strasburg.

Private Andrew Jackson Davis was captured at Strasburg near Cedar Creek, Virginia on 19 October 1864. He was sent to Point Lookout prison camp from Harper's Ferry on 24 October 1864. Private Davis was paroled at Albany Georgia on 18 May 1865.

Private Andrew Jackson Davis passed away on 20 December 1914. He was 76 years old.

Andrew Jackson Davis was born 17 June 1838 in Mitchell County Georgia. He married Martha Ann Parham in 1860.
