Smith, Mrs. Ola K - died 13 Feb 1909 in Centerville, Iowa. She was born Ola K. Ballard at Stanberry, Missouri. Nov. 13, 1865, the daughter of Harrison and Francis E Ballard. Married Charles F. Smith in May of 1892 and lived in Stanberry for a time. After moving to Des Moines, Iowa and Osceloa, then to Centerville. Leaves a husband, 3 daughters, 1 son, 2 brothers, and 5 sisters. Three sisters are, Mrs. M. A. Groom, Darlington, MO; Mrs. J. S. Scott, Kansas City, and another in Kansas City.

"Poor Viola either did not get a headstone in the cemetery or it was of a poor quality that it no longer stands or is unreadable. She was listed on her death records as being buried in Oakland Cemetery in Centerville, but they had no headstone transcription for her in the Cemetery Transcription book." -- Barb Mills
