Albert Lee Dove, 92, Criders, died Aug. 22, 1996, at Rockingham
Memorial Hospital in Harrisonburg. He had been a resident at
Oak Lea Nursing Home for the past two years.
Mr. Dove was born July 22, 1904, in Rockingham County and was
a son of the late George W. and Cora Lois Baker Dove.
He was a farmer and a member of the Valley View Mennonite
Church in Criders.
On July 5, 1927, he married the former Bessie Lee Whetzel,
who died June 7, 1981.
Survivors include one daughter, Eileen Dove Stultz, Mathias,
WV; one foster daughter, Jean Whetzel Ritchie, Broadway; one
brother, David S. Dove, Criders; three sisters, Clara May,
Criders, Lillie Dove, Broadway and Ressie Yankey, Mount
Solon; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
The Rev. Michael Shenk conducted the funeral on Sunday at the
Valley View Mennonite Church. Burial was in the Caplinger
Cemetery in Criders
