Pvt. Joseph Bacorn, was born Dec. 11, 1921, in Honolulu, Hawaii. He graduated from the Ava high school in the year of 1938.
He was married to Freda Livingston Sept. 3, 1938. To this union four children were born. Two preceded him in death. Those surviving are Joanna and Freddie.
He is also survived by his wife and his parents, father, Joe B. Bacorn, mother, Eva Bacorn, two sisters, Mrs. Louise Farrior, Mrs. Evelyn Kildoo, and brother, Eddie Bacorn.
He was called into service in June, 1944, and was killed on Okinawa, June 19, 1945.
Burial was in the Memorial Section of the Ava cemetery, where he was given full military hons by the Douglas County Post of the American Legion.
