"Qunitus C. Brown, died yesterday morning of heart disease, at his residence, No. 1828 Park avenue. For the past eighteen years, Mr. Brown held the position of chief clerk in the Gas Office. He was a native of this city, and prior to entering the Gas Office was engaged in the grocery business at the southwest corner of Tenth and Lombard streets. He was a prominent member of the Eastern Star Lodge, No. 186, F. and A. M., and was also connected with the Union League, Union Republicans and the Cameron Clubs."

"BROWN - On the 13th instant, QUINTIUS C. BROWN Sr., in the sixtieth year of his age.
Relatives and friends of the family are respectfully invited to attend the funeral, on Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock, from his late residence, No. 1831 Park avenue. Interment at Mount Vernon Cemetery."
