Vergil Odell Morgan, 60, of Asheville, passed away on Monday, February 22, 2010.
Mr. Morgan was born August 23, 1949 in Henderson County. He was a retired veteran of the US Air Force after 23 years of service.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert Ray and Myrtle McMahan Morgan.
Vergil is survived by his two sons, Jeff Morgan and wife, Lisa of Fairview, and Philip Morgan of the home; four brothers, Gary and Larry Morgan of Mills River, Wayne Morgan of Hendersonville, and Gene Moore of Mills River; and grandson, Tyler Morgan of Fairview.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held Monday at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery. Burial will follow in the Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery with military graveside rites conducted by the Buncombe County Veterans Memorial Team.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 28, 2010 in the Chapel of Harwood Home for Funerals, 208 West State Street, Blak Mountain, NC 28711.
