Eddie was known as the "Oregon Premier Reinsman." He was a harness horse race driver in the early 1900's. He worked the tracks in western Canada and the Oregon, Washington and probably California circuits. He held the record at the Salem Fair Speedway for many years.

In about 1920 he was involved in a rack track accident, with the rig tipping over and resulting in a leg amputation, which ended his career.

His wife's name was Essie and he had one son William.
