H. C. Busby, a well known Jacksonville resident, died at his residence at 354 E. Douglas Avenue at 7 p.m. Wednesday. Death followed an illness of months. Ninety-three years old, Mr. Busby was one of the oldest men in this area. For years he operated a new and used furniture store; later he was interested in the local real estate business. The last of a family of eight children, he was born in Catlin, Ill., on May 28,1855 to Newton and Sarah Ann Cotty Busby. In a ceremony held in this City in 1899, he was united in marriage to Laura Fanning. She survives, with with one daughter, Mrs. Clarence P. Siegfried; one granddaughter, Mrs. Edwin Cisne, and one greatgranddaughter, all of Jacksonville. Until his health became poor he was a faithful member of Centenary Methodist Church.
