Doris Ellen Carter (1931 - 2010)
Doris Ellen Carter, 78, of Nampa, passed away at her home on Saturday, Feb. 20, 2010 from natural causes.
A Funeral Service to honor and celebrate her life will be held at 10 AM on Thursday, Feb. 25, 2010 at the Alsip & Persons Funeral Chapel, 404 10th Ave. So. – Nampa – 466-3545. Burial will follow at the Kohlerlawn Cemetery in Nampa. The family will greet loved ones and friends at the funeral chapel on Wednesday evening from 7 – 8 P.M.
Doris was born on December 17, 1931 in Nampa where she was reared and graduated from Nampa High School. She was employed at the Idaho State School and Hospital for a number of years. Following her retirement she continued to make her home in Nampa. She was a member of the Nampa 2nd Ward, L.D.S. Church. Doris was an avid gardener and enjoyed flowers.
Doris is survived by her sons, Terry and Carol Carter, Magnolia, TX and Tim Carter, Nampa; grandchildren, Jason, Jeremy, Josh, John, Cydnee, Colton and Janessa and a very special friend that she called her grandson, Steven Stalnaker (a resident at the Idaho State School and Hospital in Nampa); 12 great grandchildren; 2 sisters, Barbara Keith, Nampa and Marjorie Gravett, Boise and a brother, Charles Smart, Caldwell.
She was preceded in death by a son, Michael; 2 sisters, Lois and Lillian and 3 brothers, Robert, Wesley and Kenneth.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Idaho Foodbank, P.O. Box 5601, Boise, Idaho 83705 or flowers may be sent.
