John Mertell Dies in Burbank, Calif.
Word has been received here of the death of John Mertell, 59, formerly of Jefferson City, in Burbank, Calif, Tuesday.
Mr. Mertell was born in Meta, March 28, 1905 and was married in 1927 to Miss Una Gray, who survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Houston and John Mertell, Jr., of Burbank; two daughters, Mrs. Rosemary Podorski, Sun Valley, Calif., and Mrs. LaDonna Webber, St. Louis; one sister, Mrs. Mary Vaughn, Meta; three brothers, Charles and Fred Mertell of St. Louis, and James Mertell, DeSoto; and nine grandchildren.
Mrs. Mertell was the brother-in-law of Mrs. Nick Raithel and Mrs. Ross Cardwell, of Jefferson City.
Note: At the time of his death he was also survived by half siblings: Edgar, Elsie, Ildia and Oliver.
