Ronald C. Cummins, age 56, of Warsaw, passed away Thursday morning, September 8, 2005, at his home. He was born on September 25, 1948, in Excelsior Springs, Missouri, the son of Raymond and Evelyn Woods Cummins.

He grew up in Excelsior Springs, Missouri and when he was 17, enlisted into the United States Navy. He served two tours overseas in Vietnam on a PBR boat on critical missions in the Mekong Delta. He was honorably discharged in 1969.

He returned to Kansas City, Missouri area and was employed by AT & T and later for Missouri Public Service. In the early 1980's, he moved to Warsaw and was employed on the Harry S. Truman Dam Project as first an electrician, then a control room operator and was a maintenance supervisor until March of this year.

He was united in marriage to Angie Bristow on December 27, 1990 in Warsaw. Following their marriage, they made their home in Warsaw.

He was a hybrid bass fisherman and was affectively known as the "Hybrid King on Truman Lake". Ron was very outgoing, adventurous, had an excellent sense of humor and always honest. One of his favorite lines was "God hates a coward" He was always willing to lend a helping hand or do anything he was ask. In 2003 and 2004, he volunteered to go to Iraq to help restore electricity and was the project engineer for restoring the electricity in the southern third of Iraq. He enjoyed traveling and saw the world while in the navy and on his many fishing trips.

His father, Raymond Cummins and two brothers, James "Jimmy" Cummins and Ray Jr. Cummins, preceded him in death.

He is survived by his wife, Angie, of the home, four children, Jerad Allen Cummins, of Blue Springs, Missouri, Brian Cummins and Michael Cummins, both of Topeka, Kansas, and Lucas Cummins, currently of the home, his mother, Evelyn Cummins of Excelsior Springs, Missouri, a sister, Norma E. Geiss, also of Excelsior Springs, other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services for Ronald Cummins will be at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, September 10, 2005, with Bill Roberts officiating. Family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 P.M., Saturday prior to the services. Interment and military honors will be at Riverside Cemetery, Warsaw. Family suggest memorial contributions may be made to the Baptist Ridge Camp in care of the Reser Funeral Home, Warsaw.
