Lorenzo S. "Pete" Baugh

Lorenzo S. "Pete" Baugh, 85, of West Terre Haute, passed away at 11:22 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 27, 2010, in his residence. He retired from Prox Foundry in Terre Haute, after more than 20 years of service. He was born July 26, 1924, in Illinois, to Jacob E. Baugh and Nettie Davis Baugh.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Lucille Eddy Baugh, whom he married Dec. 13, 1945, in Terre Haute; three daughters, Linda Dubois and her husband Tony of West Terre Haute, Susan Baum Reed of Collison, Ill., and Nancy Hickman and her husband Jerry of Paso Robles, Calif.; a son, Jimmie A. Baugh and his companion, Ginger Lovett of West Terre Haute; two sisters, Beulah Christenberry and her husband Jack, and Evelyn Fugate; a brother, Larry Baugh; two granddaughters, Kimberly Dubois Harrison and Leslie Hickman Sherk (Andy); seven grandsons, Mark Baum (LaVonne), Matt Baum (Michelle), Jimmie Baugh (Kim), Jason Baugh, Justin Baugh, Ryan Hickman (Alison), and Dan Dubois (Cindy Andrews); 18 great-grandchildren, Anna Dubois, Celeste Harrison, Dylan Baum, Heather Baum, Andrew Baum, Bode Baum, Michiele Baum, Jimmie Baugh, Jacob Baugh, Clayton Baugh, Macey Baugh, Morgan Baugh, Chevelle Baugh, Evan Sherk, Avery Sherk, Trajan Hickman, Talan Hickman, and Teague Hickman; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Denise Dubois, two sisters, Anna Baugh, and Betty Thomas; and four brothers, Joseph, Carl, Harold, and Clyde Baugh. He was a World War II Army combat veteran, during which he served as a paratrooper with the 101st Airborne Division. He was a member of Sugar Creek Baptist Church.

Services celebrating his life will be 10 a.m. Thursday in Fitzpatrick Funeral Home, 220 N. Third St., West Terre Haute, with Pastor Jerry Hickman officiating and military rites provided by the Vigo County Veterans Honor Guard.

Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, and prior to services Thursday. Private burial will be at a later date in Roselawn Memorial Park.
