Betty W. (Aschenbach) Lorenz, 85, of Sheboygan Falls, passed away on Sunday, February 28, 2010 at Terrace Estates in Sheboygan.

Betty was born to Emil and Elizabeth (Henkel) Aschenbach on February 23, 1925.

She was united in marriage to Herbert Lorenz on July 10, 1944. Herbert preceded her in death on January 10, 1996.

She worked at Garton Toy Company and as a bookkeeper at Georgia Avenue Body Shop until her retirement in 1986. Betty enjoyed the life of a mother and homemaker after marriage.

Betty was a member of Blessed Trinity Parish of Sheboygan Falls and formerly of St. George Catholic Church in the Town of Wilson. She enjoyed crafts, playing cards, and bingo.

Survivors include four children, Pauline (Mel) Holtz of Sheboygan, George (Betty) Lorenz of Sheboygan Falls, Paul (Dorothy) Lorenz of Sheboygan and Kathy (Tom) Strojinc of Sheboygan Falls; 10 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Herbert, three sisters, Luella Praegger, Mabel Hermann, and June Obodowsky.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 4, 2010 at 1:30 P.M. at the Wenig Funeral Home in Sheboygan Falls with the Rev. Bob Lotz of Blessed Trinity Parish officiating. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in Sheboygan Falls. Relatives and friends may call at the Wenig Funeral Home in Sheboygan Falls on Thursday from 12:00 P.M. until the time of the service.

A memorial fund has been established in Betty's name for St. Nicholas Hospice.

The family would like to thank the staff of Terrace Estates for all of their help and care. And also the St. Nicholas Hospice staff that helped her through this.
