John R. Burris, 97, of Cambridge, passed away Tuesday (Feb. 23, 2010) at the Cardinal House in
Cambridge.He was born Aug. 16, 1912, in Cambridge.
Mr. Burns retired from NCR in Cambridge. He was a member of First Christian Church in Cambridge and the Guernsey County Senior Citizens Center. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was a graduate of Cambridge High School and attended The Ohio State University.He was preceded in death by his parents, Homer Burns and Hattie Warren Bums; two sisters, Martha Liddell and Frances Day; and two brothers, Paul and Warren Bums.He is survived by two sons,Tom Buffis and Terry (Carol)Burns, both of Columbus; and
a brother, Glenn 0. Burns of Cambridge.Friends may call 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Bundy-Law Funeral Home, Cambridge, where services will be 11 a.m. Saturday with the Rev. Terry Tate officiating.
Burial will be in Northwood Cemetery. Military graveside rites will be conducted by the Guernsey County Veterans Council.
