Leona B. Click

HALLOWELL -- Leona B. Click, 76, of rural Hallowell died at 10 p.m. Sunday at the St. John's Regional Medical Center in Joplin, where she had been a patient for the past two weeks.

She was born Nov. 19, 1908, in Boicourt, where she grew up. She was married to Lovel Click on June 28, 1926, at Mound City. They had made their home near Hallowell in Cherokee County for the past 49 years. He died Dec. 11, 1965.

She had worked at the Kansas Ordnance Plant at Parsons and was a member of the Oswego United Methodist Church.

Survivors include on daughter, Rita Weimer of Clay Center, and two grandchildren.

Three brothers and three sisters preceded her in death.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the McGavran-Murdock Chapel in Oswego with the Rev. Ira Wiley officiating. Burial will be in the Oswego Cemetery.

(Note: I have no explanation for the discrepancy in birthdates: 1907 on headstone, 1908 in obituary. Census records indicate that 1907 is more likely. - RM)
