Obit can be found in The Olean (NY) Times Herald, August 12, 2011 Page A-4. His nickname to all family members was "Jiddy" to friends he was "Jerry". He married Mary Margaret Pratt on August 17, 1940 at St. John's Church in Olean, NY. He lived in Olean all his life and was employed by Dresser-Clark Co. (Dresser-Rand) for 40 years, retiring in 1977. Jiddy was a Jack-Of-All-Trades, carpenter, metal worker, handy man, Hunter, Fisherman. He loved music, the outdoors, travel. He and "Peg" traveled to all 50 states and europe. Jiddy also was a wonderful father to his three children, familyman and friend. He enjoyed family get-togethers and playing cards. I never heard one person say a bad word about him, he was very well liked by family and friends. He also delivered meals on wheels for over 15 years.He was survived at the time of his death by a daughter, JoAnn (Dennis) Frink of Williamsburg, VA; a son Thomas (Karen) Bowersox of Olean, NY four Grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. In addition to his wife he was predeceased by a daughter, Patricia Goodnite in 1989.
