At the age of five years, he came with his parents across the ocean, and settled in Allegheny, Pennsylvania, where they lived for about six years. Then came to Kansas where his father filed on a homestead six miles north of Ada. It was there that Mr. Yager spent most of his life. He was united in marriage to Miss Anna Kunc, June 4, 1886. Eight children were born to this union, two of who died in infancy.
About three years ago Mr. Yager's health began to fall, and about a year later he and his family moved to Ada, where he spent the rest of his life.
Left to mourn his loss are his wife Mrs. Anna Yager; two daughters, Mrs. Bert Darrow of Glasco and Miss Anna Yager of Ada; four sons, William C. and Charles W. of Ada, Frank A. of Oklahoma City, and Joseph A. of Glasco; also nine grandchildren and two sisters, Mrs. Agnes Stumpff of Kansas City, MO., and Mrs. Tonna Shultz of Delphos, Kansas
The funeral services were held in the Methodist church Thursday, May 30, at two o'clock and interment was in the Bohemia cemetery five miles north of Ada.
