Walter B. Floyd Died Tuesday at His Home Here

The many friends of Mr. Walter B. Floyd will regret to learn of his death Tuesday morning at the home of his daughter, Mrs. C. R. Gwyn of Zebulon. Mr. Floyd died at 1:30 a.m. at the age of 80 years.

Mr. Floyd was born near Forsyth, Ga., in Monroe county and had lived in that community until eight years ago. At that time he and Mrs. Floyd moved to Zebulon to make their home with Mrs. C. R. Gwyn. Here they have endeared themselves to a wide circle of devoted friends and the town is saddened by the death of this fine Christian gentleman.

Funeral services were conducted Wednesday morning at 10 o'clock from the Tabernacle Church near Forsyth were Mr. Floyd was a member. Rev. Roy Owen, of Roopville, a boyhood friend, was in charge of the services, with Rev. Cline of Tabernacle and Rev. Jack Bridges, of Zebulon, assisting him. Interment was in the Forsyth Cemetery.

Surviving in addition to Mrs. Floyd and Mrs. Gwyn, are three other daughters, Mrs. F. H. Wilson, of Griffin, Mrs. B. T. Banks and Mrs. T. G. Scott, both of Forsyth, a son W.L. Floyd of Forsyth, fourteen grandchildren, among these William Floyd Gwyn and Charles Gwyn, Jr., of Zebulon, and three great grandchildren.
