WINSTON BURDETTE BRITT

Funeral services for Winston Britt were held Friday afternoon June 26 at 2:30 at the DuBois EUB church, Rev. Charles P. Grier in charge.


Singers were Mrs. Dean Yoble and Mrs. Lyle Farwell; pianist Mrs. Herbert Marteney; Songs, "The Old Rugged Cross" and "In The Garden."


Pallbearers were Richard Barker, John Barker, LaVon Anderson, Lennis Blecha, Ronald Hofmann and Howard Rohlmeier.


Interment was in the DuBois cemetery.


Winston Burnette Britt, son of Walter and Margaret Britt, was born at Lincoln, Nebr., April 23, 1942 and departed this life June 21, 1964, at the age of 22 years, one month and 28 days. His untimely death was caused by drowning in Fremont Lake.


Winston spent some of his boyhood days at DuBois, but moved with his parents to Lincoln in 1950. During the past four years he has been employed at the Rite style Optical Company of Lincoln where he became a highly skilled lens grinder.


He was preceded in death by one brother, Willard Keith Britt in 1927.


He leaves to mourn his passing his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Britt; four brothers, Lee L. Britt of DuBois, Walter M. Britt of Rushford, Minn., Richard v. Britt of Artesia, Calif., and Roger L. Britt of Leesville, La.; one sister, Patricia Ann Lee of Lincoln; five nephews; three nieces; and many other relatives and friends.


Employees of the Rite style Optical in Lincoln who attended the funeral were: Richard Peterson, Kathy Streka, Leonard Pleis, Harold Oelschlager, Bruce Taylor, Ben Walske, Bob Wilden and Harold Thomsan, Omaha.


Relatives from out of town were: His parents, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Britt, of Lincoln; sister and brother, Mr. and Mrs. Richard L. Lee and family, Lincoln, Mr. and Mrs. Roger Britt and family of Ft.
