Anna M. Kunc, daughter of Matthew and Cecilia Sleder was born in Allegheny, Pennsylvania, Sept. 17, 1871, and died December 4, 1951, at the Community Hospital in Beloit, Kansas.

She came to Kansas in 1873 with her parents and they made their home on a farm in Ottawa county. She endured, during her life, all of the difficulties of the early pioneers.

Mrs. Kunc moved to Glasco May 1, 1949 and lived in that community until the recent flood, when she moved to Beloit and made her home with her son Paul.

On June 20, 1891, she was married to Anton Kunc, who died November 18, 1935. She leaves to mourn her three sons; Henry K., of Glasco, George, of Corpus Christi, Texas, and Paul P., of Beloit. Two children preceded in death; Mrs, Clara Krizek and Anton Kunc, Jr. There are also two sisters, Mrs. Lilly Kunc, of Edmond Oklahoma, and a half-sister, Mrs. Mary Zeigler, of Ada; one brother, Frank T. Slater, of Minneapolis; three grandchildren, Marianna Jordan, Patricia Kunc and Kenneth Kunc; and one great-grandchild, Jane Ellen Jordan; also a host of relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held from the McDonald Funeral Home, at Glasco, on Friday, December 7, with the Rev. W. E. Cassell, of Salina in charge. Burial ws made in the Bohemian National Cemetery in Stanton Township of this county, no far from the home where she lived so many years.

Relatives and friends from a distance who attended the funeral were Mrs. Lilly Kunc, Mrs. Christine Kratky and W. J. Kunc, all of Edmond, Oklahoma; Mr. and Mrs. George Kunc and Kenneth, of Corpus Christi,Texas; Mrs. Celia Presley, Edwin Presley, James Kunc, Mrs. Lennie Leonard, Mrs. Lillie Leonard and Mrs. Anna Sleder, Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Sleder and Don Sleder, all of Salina.
