Ruby was united in marriage to Arthur Guy Pfortmiller on December 7, 1937 at St. John Lutheran Church in Natoma. Art preceded her in death on November 18, 1989.
Ruby was a devoted homemaker for her family. She also worked for the City of Natoma for a few years.
Ruby was a member of Peace Lutheran Church of Natoma. She enjoyed crocheting, embroidering and quilting.
Surviving family include her daughter Myra Chrisler and husband Delmar of Natoma; son David Pfortmiller and wife Joan of Delta, Colorado; four granddaughters, Michele, Kimberly, Tammy Jo and Brenda; and four great grandchildren, Scott, Gus, Brooke and Cooper. She was preceded in death by her parents and an infant son.
Celebration of Ruby's Life will be held at 10:30 A.M. Monday, December 1, 2008 at Peace Lutheran Church of Natoma with Pastor Michael Schmidt officiating. Interment will follow at Natoma City Cemetery. Visitation will be from noon to 8 PM Sunday at Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary in Russell with the family present to greet friends from 6 PM to 7 PM. A memorial has been established with Peace Lutheran Church. Contributions and condolences may be sent in care of Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary.
