August Cerveny was born July 10, 1889 and departed this life July 7, 1982 at the Ottawa County Hospital in Minneapolis.
He was born on a farm north of Ada to Joseph and Mary Cerveny and had six brothers and two sisters, all of who preceded him in death.

January 2, 1919, he was united in marriage to Lola Grace. To their union was born one daughter, Marjorie, Mrs. Frank Kosar. His wife preceded him in death September 18, 1967.

He lived on the home farm all his active years and moved to Carver Court September 1974, where he lived for nearly eight years and enjoyed very much. He particularly enjoyed his friends here.

He was a member of Stonerock Bible Chapel in Ada and a member of the ZCBJ Lodge for over SO years.

He is survived by his daughter Marjorie and husband Frank of Salina, one granddaughter, Vonda Rae Gaddy and husband Michael, two great granddaughters Allison Rae and Jennifer Lynne Gaddy, all of Houston, Texas, two nieces, Irene Ball of Simpson and Goldena Eichmen of Russell, and other nieces, nephews, relatives, friends and neighbors.
Services were held Sunday, July 11, Shields Funeral Home, the Rev. Bob Clark officiating.

Casketbearers were Barrel Stirn, Harlow Peterson, Eugene Mullen, Albert Lee Prochaska, Harold Hrabe and Garence Becker.

Vocalists were Mr. and Mrs. Brett Prochaska and Mrs. Eugene Mullen was organist.

Interment was in the Bohemian National Cemetery, Ada and Shields Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
