COL Olive "Lee" Burner had a 30 year career as a USAF Nurse, serving in hospitals world-wide. She received her degree in nursing from NYU. She first served in Saudi Arabia in 1952 and there met her first husband, pilot CAPT Leo M Dove. CAPT Dove died in a 1958 airplane crash and is buried in Arlington National Cemetery. COL Burner met and married Air Force physician COL Alvin Burner, an internist, while stationed at Wright Patterson AFB in Dayton, OH. She served as a nurse administrator and on an Inspector General team, and then served as director of nurses at March AFB in Riverside, CA. COL Burner received a PhD in management at Claremont Graduate School. She taught graduate students at UCLA. COL Burner and her husband retired to San Antonio TX Air Force Villages in 1995.
