Huber Heights, OH- George W. Libert, Sr., 77, of Hartwick Lane, passed away at 5am, Sunday, February 17, 2008 at St. Elizabeth Medical Center following a recent illness.

Mr. Libert was born April 30, 1930 in East Palestine, the only child of the late Edward Libert and Martha (Whitehead) Libert of East Palestine.

A graduate of East Palestine High School, he served 22 years in the U.S. Marine Corps, serving in both Korea and Vietnam. After retiring from the Marine Corp, he worked as a security guard at Delco Products for 25 years.

He was active in the Masonic Lodge, Antioch Shriners, Order of the Eastern Star, VFW, American Legion, AmVets, Eagles, and the 40 and 8 club, all in the Dayton area.

His wife, Sandra (Laurel) Libert, whom he married July 21, 1951, preceded him in death June 21, 2001.

He is survived by his sons, George W. Libert, Jr of East Palestine, Steven J. Libert of Oak Hills, Virginia, and Mark E. Libert of Huber Heights; a daughter, Pamala J. Riffle of Huber Heights; 7 grandchildren; and 5 great grandchildren.

Following his wishes, no calling hours or funeral services will be observed. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Oliver-Linsley Funeral Home.
