MAASTRICHT, CAPT. WILLIAM HENRY, USN Charleston, SC entered into eternal rest on the morning of January 22, 2006, Captain William Henry Maastricht, USN (Ret.) husband of Dorothy Lewis Maastricht. The relatives and friends of Dr. and Mrs. Maastricht are invited to attend the Funeral Service of the former, Thursday, January 26, 2006 in Westminster Presbyterian Church at ten o'clock. Interment Services will be conducted Fri., March 17, 2006, at 9 a.m. in Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, VA. Friends may call at J. HENRY STUHR, INC. WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL, (3360 Glenn McConnell Pkwy.) Wednesday from five until seven o'clock. William Maastricht was born in Muskegon, MI, September 16, 1937, the son of William Maastricht and Katherine Rasmussen Maastricht. He was a graduate of Loyola of Chicago, School of Dentistry and earned a Masters Degree from George Washington University. Capt. Maastricht's distinguished thirty year career in the Naval Dental Corps included duty in Vietnam and six years in the White House serving as Dentist to the President under the Ford Administration and the Carter Administration. Dr. Maastricht was a member of the American Dental Association, Academy of Operative Dentistry, Academy of Gold Foil Operators, a volunteer for West Ashley Meals on Wheels, and a diehard Chicago Cubs Fan Club Member. Surviving are his wife of Charleston, SC; four daughters: Lisa Maastricht Van Horn and her husband James of Ypsilanti, MI, Kim Maastricht of Little Rock, AR, Dr. Jodi Maastricht Fichera and her husband Chris of Ann Arbor, MI and Kari Maastricht of Charleston, SC; one brother, Thomas Paul Maastricht of Shelby, MI; six grandchildren: James William Van Horn, Samantha Van Horn, Jennifer Fichera, Elizabeth Fichera, Lewis Fichera and William Fichera. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Westminster Presbyterian Church, 1157 Sam Rittenberg Blvd., Charleston, SC 29407 and/or a charity of one's choice.
