William G. Beckett, 76, of Parkersburg, passed away Sept. 1, 2009, at his residence.
He was born the son of the late Clyde and Ruth Beckett. He had at one time worked as a Police Officer for the Parkersburg Police Department and had retired from the Sheet Metal Workers Union Local #33. He was an avid marble collector and loved hunting and fishing. He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran.
He is survived by his children, William G. Jr., Patrick, Clinton, Tom, Julie, Sandra and Casey. His brothers, Jack, John and Harold Beckett.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, 3 p.m. at the Leavitt Funeral Home in Parkersburg. Visitation will be Tuesday from noon until service time.
