George Salmon, 71, Milton Junction, died at 12:30 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 21, in Mercy Hospital, Janesville, following a long illness. A Milton Junction resident for more than 50 years, he had been an employee of Fisher Body, Janesville, prior to his retirement in 1959.

He was born March 16, 1894 at Hoosick Falls, New York, the youngest son of William A. and Sarah Philpott Salmon. He was married to Katie Vincent, who predeceased him. He later married Hazel Swaney Stockman who died in March, 1964. He was a member of the Milton Junction Methodist Church.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Robert Walker of Glenview, Ill., one son, Kenneth, in California; four grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Moell of Schenectady, N. Y., Mrs. Olive Cobbit of Daytona Beach, Fla., and Mrs. Sarah Johnson of North Adams, Mass.; two brothers, Asahel and Ransom Salmon both of North Bennington, Vt.

Funeral services were to be held today, Thursday, Sept. 23, at 11 a.m. in the Albrecht Funeral Home, The Rev Alvin Briggs, Milton Junction Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in the Milton Cemetery.
