OBITUARY: Sullivan News Thursday, February 1, 1945 Sullivan, Missouri
"ARNOLD RAY BANDY. -- Arnold Ray Bandy, son of Earl F. and Mellie M. Bandy, was born February 10, 1928, and died tragically January 25, 1945, at the age of 16 years, 11 months and 15 days.
Arnold was the Junior Class president, and a high ranking student of the Sullivan High School. He attended Sunday School and Church services at the Evergreen Baptist Church in the Spring Bluff Community.
Surviving him are: his father and mother; three brothers, Francis, Willard Lee and Roy Calvin; and one sister, Marjorie Ann. One brother, Lloyd Earl, preceded him in death. He is also survived by a number of other relatives and a host of friends.
His remains lay in state in the home until 10 o'clock a.m. Sunday, January 27, 1945 when a service was held for him at the Evergreen Baptist Church by the Rev. Hoeke of Union. His remains rest in Odd Fellows Cemetery in Sullivan where they were lovingly interred after the public funeral ritual at the City Auditoruim in Sullivan Sunday, January 27, 1945, out of respect to him and his friends, William Creason and Howard Larkin, who passed on in his company."∼hit by frisco train,Sullivan,MO.
