Mrs. DANIEL S. ANDRUS.

Mrs. Mattie Andrus, widow of Daniel Andrus, died on September 10th at her home, Lake street, following a shock suffered three weeks ago an ill failing health during the last few months.

She was the daughter of Henry and Elvira Brown Sweeting and was born in Morris on August 12, 1861. When she was a child her parents moved to Walworth, N.Y., where she grew to womanhood and attended the Walworth Academy. Afterward to Rochester and to nmod the of milliner, coming to Perry 53 ago and establishing a business partnership with Miss Adelaide Vine under the firm name of Vine & Sweeting in the quarters occupied by the telephone company in the Olin block.

On May 6, 1884, she was united in marriage to Daniel S. Andrus of Perry, who was the then engaged in business in Castile and moved to that place and began housekeeping. They returned in 1910 to Perry, which has since been her home. Mr. Andrus passed away on July 18, 1933. They were parents of one daughter, Miss Bessie M. Andrus, who survives.

Mrs. Andrus was active while the condition of her health permitted and Was much esteemed by those who knew her. She was a member of the Baptist Church, of its Philathea Class and of Perry Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star, a number of whose members attended in a body the funeral services held at the family residence last Tuesday afternoon at 2.30 o'clock. Rev. J. B. Freestone officiated, with interment in Hope Cemetery.

Beside the daughter mentioned she is survived by a sister, Mrs. Ella Smith of Buffalo, who was with her and assisted in caring for her during her last illness; also by a brother, Frank Sweeting of Parma, N.Y.
