Andrew B. Tamayo, 42, of Yokosuka Naval Base, Japan, a member of the Radford High School team, which won the 1971 Hawaii state basketball championship, died Dec. 16 at sea. Tamayo, a commanding officer for the U.S.S. Fife DD-991, was born in San Diego. He is survived by wife Irene; children Gabriel, Emily G. and Joseph; parents Rudolph and Crispina; brother Rudy; and sisters Estrella, Carmella, Laurie and Joni. Services held.
