John H. Ostrander, 86, of La Plata, MD passed away at the Charlotte Hall Veterans Home on September 28, 2009.

He is preceded in death by his Parents; John Ostrander and Isabell Hanley Ostrander, Wife; JoAnn Ostrander, and brother; James Ostrander.

He is survived by his Daugher; Deborah Beck. Sister; Mildred Tilquist. 3 grandchildren; Jesse, Brittany, and Kyle, and 3 great-grandchildren. Niece; Kathleen Kiley, Nephew; John Kiley. Also his companion; Lillian Tayman.

John retired from the Navy. He loved the horses races, Yankee baseball, ballroom and square dancing, and crossword puzzles.

A viewing will be held on Friday, October 2, 2009 from 2 until 6 pm with prayers during that time at 5:30 pm at Arehart-Echols Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 3, 2009 at 11 am at the Pisgah United Methodist Church. Internment will be at Arlington National Cemtery on Tuesday, November 17, 2009 at 9 am.

Memorials may be made to either the American Heart Association or the Pisgah United Methodist Church.
