Bryson City - Glenna Christine Welch Kirkland, 68, of the Lackey Hill community of Bryson City, died Sunday, Died at Home on August 4, 2009 .
A native of Swain County, She was the Daughter of the late Cecil Thomas Welch and Edna Mae Welch.
She was preceded in death by her late Husband Alex H. Kirkland ,one daughter and one granddaughter.
She is survived by her four daughters, Joyce Smith and Charles Lackey of Bryson City, Lois Waters and husband, Waymon, of Stanley, Malinda LaPuglia and husband, Doug, of Whittier and Sarah Waters and husband, Scott, of Bryson City; two sons, Raymond Kirkland and wife, Edith, of Bryson City, and Alex Kirkland Jr. and wife, Sharon, of Bryson City; 15 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on August 7, 2009 in the chapel of Crisp Funeral Home. The Rev. Roy Lindsay will officiate. Burial will be in Lauada Cemetery.
