KASTEN, AUGUST C.
Ocala – August C. Kasten, 83, passed away March 6, 2010 in Ocala, FL. He was born in Maribel, WI and was postmaster for 33 years in Maribel. He moved to Ocala in 2003 from Green Bay, WI. He was a member of Abiding Hope Lutheran Church and was a charter member of Maribel Lions Club. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Shirley Kasten of Ocala; daughters, Myra (Bill) Knoener of Ocala, Cynthia (Richard) Mleziva of Manitowoc, WI, and Judith Kasten of Ocala; sons, James (Cindy) Kasten of Elkhorn, NE and John (Karen) Kasten of Ocala; sister, Elsie (Ray) Kratz of Luxemburg, WI; 8 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Mr. Kasten was pre-deceased by 4 brothers and 4 sisters. In lieu of flowers contributions to Abiding Hope Lutheran Church Building Fund or Hospice of Marion County. Arrangements by Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services-Ocala. Condolences may be posted to hiers-baxley.com.

No services will be held in Ocala. Services will be held Thursday, March 11, 2010 at 2:00 PM at St. John's Lutheran Church, Maribel, WI with visitation from 12:00–2:00 PM. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
