Funeral services for Clyde Lenton Watson,72, of Itta Bena, will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday at Williams and Lord Funeral Chapel. Mr. Watson died this morning at Greenwood Leflore Hospital after a brief illness. Born in Webster County, he had been a resident of Itta Bena for 38 years. Mr. Watson, a retired farmer, was a member of the First Baptist Church and the Masonic Lodge in Itta Bena. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Maude Lee Watson of Itta Bena; three sons, Bobby Ray Watson of Clarksdale, Clyde A. Watson and Charles B. Watson, both of Greenwood; two daughters, Mrs. Payton Peeples of Yazoo City and Mrs. George Williams of Hollandale; three brothers, Hale Watson of Bay Cliff, Texas, Dewey Watson of Sidon and Harvey Watson of Itta Bena; three sisters, Mrs. Laura Lee and Mrs. Clarice Boykin, both of Itta Bena and Mrs. Thora Andrews of Greenwood. The Rev. Wilbur Webb, assisted by the Rev. Doyle Cummings, will officiate at the services with burial in Itta Bena Cemetery. Pallbearers will be M.L. Hodges, Keith Bills, James Peeples, Doyle Lee, Ellis Long, George Barefoot, Morris Allison and Hobson Gary. Published in Greenwood Commonwealth.
