Went to be with her Lord on Thursday, January 28, 2010. Violet was born March 13, 1928 in Elsie, MI a daughter of Peter L. and Flossie (Scott) Cain. She owned and operated Vi's Beauty Shop for over 35 years in Ashley, MI before moving to Kalamazoo in 1999. She was a member of East Washington United Brethren Church in Ashley, MI and attended Texas Corners Bible Church in Kalamazoo. On December 21, 1946, she married Elton H. Mills, who survives. She is also survived by their children, Elton H., Jr. (Pam) Mills of Denham Springs, LA, Jerry L. (Sally) Mills of Westminster, CO, Roger L. (Janet) Mills of Kalamazoo and Tina Tinsley of Webberville, MI; 11 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; and a brother, Peter L. (Julie) Cain of Sand Lake, MI; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Opal Besemer. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 2, at 10:30 AM, in the Texas Corners Bible Church, 7780 S. 8th St. with Pastor David Thompson officiating. Interment will follow at Ft. Custer National Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 S. 9th St. on Sunday from 3-7 PM.
