MONTICELLO - Elma Evelyn Allen, 83, of Monticello died Friday (March 5, 2010) in Piatt County Nursing Home, Monticello.
Services will be 11 a.m. Monday at Calvary Baptist Church, Monticello, with the Rev. Randy Dempsay officiating. Visitation will be one hour before services. Burial will be in Monticello Township Cemetery. Arrangements by: Roux-Hinds Funeral Home, Bement. Memorials: American Diabetes Association .
Elma was born Nov. 17, 1926, in Flora, the daughter of Jerome and Nancy Blair Bailey. She was a beautician and farm wife. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. She married Edward Allen on May 22, 1944, in Weldon. He preceded her in death Feb. 2, 1985.
Surviving are her son, Kenny Burgess (Theresa A.) Allen of Monticello; daughter, Brenda Carol Allen of Monticello; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and sister, Doris (Walt) Cresap of Monticello.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sons, Dennis Edward Allen and Frederick Dale Allen; six brothers; and three sisters.
